ABOUT THE MAKERSPACE
Oak Hill MakerSpace is a major part of the Oak Hill Collaborative; available to incubator participants, residents of the neighborhood, and other interested parties, the MakerSpace is a "community center with tools" providing access to a wide array of equipment and tools including several 3D printers, computers, wood working equipment, assorted hand tools, air compressors and the like with more being donated, borrowed, and otherwise acquired all the time. Our weekly MakerSpace meetings bring the community together to think, build and share their ideas and expertise on a variety of projects including workshops and services such as :

Video discusses the purpose of ORM and its efforts to work with local water analysis organization to use robotics to help perform water monitoring.
Cameron Hughes discusses programming the Phantom Pincher X robot arm that will be used in the CSI/Clue Robot Challenge.
Jeff Rimko demonstrates the V-REP robot simulator. It is a 3D robot simulation tool that runs under Linux and MAC environments.
Brian Jones test the pH sensor. This sensor will be used with two of the robot projects.

The ORM (Oak Hill Collaborative Robotics Makerspace) is a group of makers comprised of software and robotics engineers, sensor designers, web developers, project managers, technology educators, and students. These volunteers are excited and committed to exploring new ideas on how technology can be used to benefit our community.

The Oak Hill Collaborative, Inc. is a 501-C3 non-profit organization on the South Side of Youngstown. Our primary objective is community revitalization through small business development and neighborhood beautification with the goal of improving the quality of life along the Oak Hill corridor and the creation and utilization of a makerspace.
